O nome pode ser longo, mas a proposta é relevante e oportuna. O Laboratório Ecossistêmico Interdisciplinar de Aprendizagem na Gastronomia – LEIA – é um projeto de extensão do Centro Universitário Una, que busca integrar a sociedade acadêmica e a comunidade em processos de formação e qualificação de práticas sustentáveis.  O laboratório social LEIA – nasceu no âmbito da iniciação cientifica coordenado pelo Mestrado Profissional em Gestão Social, Educação e Desenvolvimento Local, cuja participação continua, por meio do desenvolvimento de pesquisa e intervenção em hortas comunitárias. Suas áreas de atuação são o cultivo, o manejo e a manutenção de hortas urbanas sustentáveis, bem como a educação alimentar e o combate ao desperdício. Para isto, utiliza espaços ociosos, transformando-os em ambientes educativos. A execução do projeto é uma parceria entre os cursos de Gastronomia e Arquitetura, mas, devido ao seu caráter multidisciplinar, alunos de outros cursos – como Biologia e Nutrição – também são chamados a participar.

A proposta se baseia em cinco pilares de atuação:

  • Marketing Verde – parcerias com empresas e com a sociedade;
  • Sustentabilidade – em todas as etapas do projeto;
  • Acessibilidade – projeto aberto à comunidade, escolas e outros projetos;
  • Interdisciplinaridade – utilização de várias áreas de conhecimento;
  • Aprendizado – troca de conhecimentos por meio de atividades educativas.

Com pouco mais de um ano de atividades, o LEIA já ocupa lugar de destaque no cenário urbano. Desde seu lançamento – em agosto de 2016, inúmeras ações foram desenvolvidas. Os resultados mostram que, ao final de cada uma delas, o projeto cria musculatura e ganha credibilidade junto ao seu público alvo. O Espaço LEIA, implantado no terraço do Campus João Pinheiro da Una, tornou-se referência para quem quer criar ou manter hortas sustentáveis. Tudo começou com o mutirão Mãos na Terra, quando a sociedade foi convidada a participar do plantio de mudas e sementes, sob orientação dos monitores. De lá para cá, o projeto esteve presente em seminários e congressos, estabeleceu parcerias, incorporou voluntários, apoiou e recebeu apoios. Uma ação de intervenção urbana que teve grande receptividade do público foi o plantio de mudas no primeiro parklet de container do Brasil, instalado no início de agosto na região da Savassi.

A proliferação de hortas urbanas e periurbanas é consequência de uma grande demanda por práticas saudáveis no cotidiano das cidades. A educação alimentar e o combate ao desperdício são componentes indispensáveis quando o tema é Gastronomia Verde. O LEIA veio trazer luz a estas temáticas e ajudar pessoas que procuram por novos modelos de vida, mais próximos da natureza e mais engajados com as causas sociais.

Um projeto que já conquistou corações e mentes dos mineiros, sem dúvida.
