O Cozinhas e Quintais Produtivos é um projeto de extensão do Programa Minas Raízes, da Escola de Design, da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais – UEMG, realizado em parceria com o Instituto Mani, tendo como público alvo quitandeiras(os), cozinheiras(os) e produtores(as) de agricultura familiar. 

O projeto busca desenvolver em conjunto com a comunidade de São Sebastião das Águas Claras – popularmente conhecida como Macacos – atividades com objetivo de preservar e difundir a memória, os hábitos culturais gastronômicos, os ofícios do “saber fazer artesanal“. Dessa forma, promove junto à comunidade o fortalecimento da identidade territorial e da economia local gerada pela Produção Associada ao Turismo com abordagem permeada pelo Design Sistêmico.
Mas o Cozinha e Quintais quer mais. Depois de implementado, o projeto prevê outros benefícios para Macacos e entorno como: o estímulo à preservação de plantas autóctones, especialmente as  Plantas Alimentícias Não Convencionais – PANCs; a promoção da alimentação saudável e das boas práticas na manipulação dos alimentos; o fortalecimento do empreendedorismo local por meio de novos modelos de negócio e da realização de eventos gastronômicos.
Palestras, oficinas e visitas técnicas são algumas das atividades previstas durante os sete meses de desenvolvimento do projeto.  Ao final, espera-se que os participantes estejam aptos a criar, produzir e comercializar produtos artesanais com forte vínculo territorial. Em todas as etapas, princípios do trabalho colaborativo serão aplicados para fomentar o protagonismo na construção de uma rede que dissemine o saber fazer gastronômico local.

O Cozinha e Quintais Produtivos é um ótimo exemplo de como as atividades acadêmicas podem contribuir para o desenvolvimento local. Ao aliar conhecimento formal à cultura popular, a iniciativa possibilita a identificação e o aperfeiçoamento de competências, o fortalecimento de vínculos sociais, além de dotar o distrito de Macacos de um novo atrativo econômico.

O Ops parabeniza a UEMG e o Instituto Mani e deseja muito sucesso ao projeto.

    Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.
    I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any tips or suggestions?
